If you live or work in a building where the connection of your carrier isn’t that strong, then you must lead a pretty frustrating life. While you probably cannot afford to get your own satellite or something, you can always settle for network extenders. Verizon and the Networks Division of Samsung Electronics America is now introducing their 4G LTE Network Extender that is meant for home and small businesses. It will be able to give you an in-bulding coverage solution for such areas like houses, restaurants, small business offices, etc.
The device uses Samsung’s small cell technology so you’ll be able to use HD Voice and Video calls, browse the web using your mobile data, and even stream content even when the existing cellular coverage may not be enough. You won’t need to spend so much (compared to their other existing 4G LTE Extender but meant for Enterprise use) and it is also easy enough to install that you don’t need to hire someone to do it for you, as it is meant for self-installation.
Basically, the extender will act like a small 4G LTE cell tower and will be able to cover a 7,500 square foot area. It will be able to provide connection to up to 7 devices, but with one more channel reserved so you can make 911 calls in case of emergencies. Another thing that Samsung brings to the device is the self-optimizing network technology which will be able to adjust the coverage depending on the environment.
Verizon’s 4G LTE Extender will cost you $249.99 and will be available from the carrier starting June 30.
