We talked about SlimRoms a couple of days back. Basically, the idea is to provide a straightforward custom ROM that does away with the unneeded bloat so your device’s software can zip along at great speed. That’s a catchy enough slogan for most Android users, if you think about all the bloatware you get on your phones. The guys have recently put out Slim6, and now they have a weekly update going.
This weekly build of Slim6 is called Alpha 0.2, and it brings some needed goodies to your Slim6 ROM. It brings feature additions like Slim Doze/Ambient display options, Proximity Wake, Proximity Speaker, and toggles for waking up the device when charger is plugged. It also adds support for more devices like the OnePlus 2, the OnePlus X, and the Nexus 5X.
Of course, the update will bring needed bug fixes to the original Slim6 build. These include fixes to app crashes like the desktop clock and the gallery editor. The update also brings security patches for Stagefright up to date.
Lastly, the guys at SlimRoms have made it easier for their users to report bugs and issues with the builds they put out. You can now report and track bugs and issues at the SlimRoms bug tracker website. Enjoy the update and the new build? Tell us about it at the comments below.
