Using custom ROMs is one of the freedoms a lot of hardcore Android users take to heart, because this is and has been the continuing feature of Android that says you can have your phone’s software be the way you want it to be. But it is a fact that a lot of custom ROMs are still bloated in terms of features and have the tendency to slow down operations. That has always been SlimRoms’ niche – to provide straightforward custom ROMs without bloat and that zip along at great speed. Slim6 is now out – still in development, mind you – but this is the SlimRom based on Android Marshmallow you’ve been waiting for.

Slim6, for now, includes most of these – what is basically stock AOSP running the iconic SlimLauncher, root privileges, with features to change your device’s DPI and make icons larger or smaller. But the ROM is still in development, so features are definitely not complete, such as the SlimPIE feature, which will be making its way to the build soon.

The list of supported devices are small to initially, but that is understandable. Slim6 will load on the Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Nexus 5, Nexus 4, 2nd generation Nexus 7, or a Nexus 9. Non-Nexus devices include the HTC One M8, HTC One M9, 2nd generation Moto E with LTE, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.
