Lenovo doesn’t just have Motorola. It also has ZUK as its sub-brand so we won’t be surprised if Lenovo’s numbers improve significantly this year. It’s been very busy recently and it just announced the new ZUK Z2. Well, it’s not a totally new smartphone but it’s a less inexpensive version of the ZUK Z2 Pro that was released last April. That one is the premium flagship model while the Z2 is simply the mid-range variant.
The ZUK sub-brand rolled out the Pro version with 6GB RAM and a Snapdragon 820 chipset. It’s the expensive version at $420 but still, that price can be considered a bit affordable for some people or at least compared to the Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5, or HTC 10.
The budget-friendly device is now below $300 with some specs downgraded like the RAM now down to 4GB. The processor is still a Qualcomm S820. Other specs include a 5.0-inch Full HD screen, 13MP camera (ISOCELL and PDAF), 8MP front-facing camera (wide-angle), 4G/LTE connectivity, 646GB onboard storage, Dual SIM support, fingerprint scanner, and a 3500mAh battery. The device also takes advantage of the Quick Charge 3.0 tech by Qualcomm. Phone also runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow on but is topped by the ZUI 2.0 interface.
ZUK Z2 is priced at ¥1,799 in China. That’s about $273 in the United States but we’re not certain if the smartphone will be ready in other markets.
