Polaroid is a brand associated for those cameras that instantly printed photos for you, until they decided to close up that side of the business and instead focused on producing smartphones and other gadgets. Now they’re embarking on a somewhat different, albeit larger world with the release of their first Smart TVs. The 4K Ultra HD LED models will allow users to enjoy streaming their favorite shows from their favorite services, particularly since they come with Google Cast technology already incorporated in the units.
The Polaroid 4K smart TVs will give viewers four times the resolution of the usual Full HD sets. It has 3840 x 2160 resolution and more than 8 million pixels, giving you the clarity and fluidity of motion that you’re probably looking for in a TV of this range. The HDMI 2.0 allows optimal digital and audio performance and with just using one cable. And while Polaroid may not be a brand that you can associate with high quality smart TVs, it may be a good place to start if you want to upgrade from your “normal” TV set.
And one good thing about this 4K TV is Polaroid’s partnership with Google as the Google Cast technology is now a pretty attractive feature to have for your Smart TV. You’ll be able to stream your videos, music, photos or any supported apps from your mobile device to the TV screen and/or speakers. You can use said mobile device, like a smartphone or tablet to control the content being cast onto the TV. The system supports more than a thousand cast-enabled apps, more than 200,000 TV shows and movies, and more than 30,000 songs.
The Polaroid 4K UHD LED TVs will start shipping this summer and is available in 43”, 50”, 55”, and 65” sizes. Prices range from $499-$999. Later this year, a 75” model will also be available and will cost around $1899.99.
