A new Desire has just been shown off by HTC. Yep, ladies and geeks, HTC is still fighting and we commend the Taiwanese company for trying. It’s our duty to help everyone so let’s give the HTC Desire 628 a chance since it seems like a worthy upgrade to last year’s HTC Desire 626. Following its predecessor, the new Desire 628 is a mid-range phone based on the specs and features listed on HTC’s Vietnamese website. This is no longer a leak or a rumor. The HTC Desire 628 is now officially listed in Vietnam.

There is no formal announcement yet but HTC Vietnam has included the Desire 628 in its lineup. The official page is up complete with information on specs: 5.0-inch screen, 720p resolution, 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek MTK6753 processor, 3GB RAM, microSD card slot, 32GB onboard storage, Dual SIM support, 13 megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5MP selfie shooter, and a 2200mAh battery. All these tell us that the HTC Desire 628 is a mid-range phone and we’re hoping that it will be very affordable. We’re assuming this will be offered in the prepaid market.

The phone isn’t powerful but it’s decent. If you’re looking for a new smartphone for simple browsing, call, text, or social media lurking, you can considered this new Desire. We still have no word on pricing and availability in other regions. We just know that this HTC Desire needs to beat the other affordable mid-range devices out there.

HTC needs all the numbers up. So aside from the HTC 10 and HTC 10 Lifestyle, HTC still has this Desire 628 to prove that it is still relevant in the mobile industry.
