Storage on our smartphone devices is always a problem, especially if you have a lot of photos and videos to store, and apps to install. Android users have it better than others of course, since most phones have support for storage expansion through microSD cards. But even the 128GB is not enough now for some people. Samsung has now introduced the EVO Plus 256GB MicroSD card which is currently has the highest capacity in its class.
Samsung’s promise is not just you’ll have the highest storage capacity, but it also offers fast speed when transferring files to and from the card. With the V-NAND technology, you have 95MB/s reading speed and 90MB/s for writing speeds. This is a good thing to have for those high-res photos that you’re storing or the 4K videos you’re recording or even the graphic intensive games you’re playing as well as the virtual reality media you’re exploring.
With the 256GB capacity, you will be able to store up to 55,200 photos, 12 hours of 4K UHD video, 33 hours of full HD videos, 46 hours of HD videos, and up to 23,500 songs. Of course, these are not all at the same time, or rather same card. In terms of protection, it is IPX7 certified so it is waterproof. More importantly, (since you probably will not be dropping it in water or something) it is also temperature, x-ray, and magnetic proof.
The EVO Plus 256GB MicroSD card will be available by June 2016 and will set you back $249.99. It will also come with a 10-year warranty applicable to 50 countries including the US, Europe, and China.
