Since it officially became available last March, there has been a lot of interest in the new flagship from Samsung, the Galaxy S7. With its excellent camera low lighting and autofocus, the return of the microSD card for expanded memory, the IP68 certification, and the better than before battery life, the smartphone has become the must-have Android device of the moment (until a better one comes along of course). Now the Korean OEM has released three new TVCs that highlight 3 of the more popular features of the smartphone and using the tagline, “Rethink what a phone can do.”
The first video entitled Sister showcases the fact that the Galaxy S7’s camera is “not afraid of the dark”. A little girl cannot fall asleep in her room with the lights out because she sees monsters in the dark. But when her sister takes pictures of those “monsters”, apparently they’re not scary after all. It only shows off the fact that the Galaxy S7 can take clear looking pictures even in low lighting situations.

The second ad is called Friend and is a little more amusing and relatable for people who have friends who always lets them pay for stuff because they “don’t have cash with them”. From snacks after the game, to tickets to a football match, to paying for flowers destroyed in a footy accident, a guy’s freeloading friend has the perfect excuse to not pay. But things turn around when the guy sees his friend using a Galaxy S7, which of course has Samsung Pay. Problem solved.

The third ad is Samsung’s foray into rom-com. Well, sort of. Instead of a girl waiting by her mobile phone for a guy to call (hello, it’s 2016 already), we have a guy waiting night and day for that call from the cute girl he met who told him “Don’t worry, I’ll call you.” Of course the moment she calls, he drops it in a sink full of water. And if you know that the Galaxy S7 is IP68 certified, then you know this video has a happy ending.
