Months after they were launched back in September 2015, the second-generation Chromecast dongle and Chromecast Audio are now finally available in India. Google said that a lot of users in the country have already been enjoying streaming movies, music, and even photos to their TV sets, ever since Chromecast was introduced in the market back in 2014. And now, those who want to upgrade to the latest dongle can do so and those who haven’t tried any Chromecast product yet will now get the chance to do so.
If you want to refresh your memory about these two Chromecast products, the new dongle has a “fresher” design, more like a disc than a dongle really. It is easier to plug in to your TV if your HDMI ports are too crowded or too narrow to fit in the original one. It also has better WiFi support that can adapt to the sometimes unstable WiFi connections at your house or from wherever you’re streaming. There are also two new colors so you have the option to choose which one will better match your living room.
The Chromecast Audio meanwhile was a new product introduced last year which allows you to stream your audio from any of your mobile devices to your existing speakers. You simply plug in the dongle to the speakers and use any of the audio apps that support Chromecast casting. The Chromecast app has also been updated so it is easier to find stuff to watch or listen to. It will recommend Cast-enabled apps and games so you can see what are your options out there.
Those who live in India will be able to buy both the Chromecast (3,399 INR) and Chromecast Audio (3,399 INR) from various online stores like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Paytm and retailers like Reliance and Croma.
