If you manage websites for a living or it is a task assigned to you in your company, then you probably know that Google Analytics is your best friend. And ever since the Android app became available, you probably spent a lot of time obsessively looking at your stats and analytics. Well with the latest update, you will probably spend even more time doing that as there is much improvement from the design to the colors to the layout and to the sharing options as well.
First off, the most obvious change we can see is that the app now employs the Material Design visual guideline that most Google apps already use. There is a lot more orange and white and blue in this one and the icon has changed as well, becoming simpler but more attractive. In terms of functionality, you will now be able to go through the dimensions easily as you only need to swipe through the various dimensions and then tap metrics if you want to see the more detailed information. It’s also easier to control the date ranges, segments, and specifics that you want to look at.
One other important new addition to the app is easier report sharing. The app will now be able to generate an image after you’ve chosen the metrics and analytics that you want to include in your report. The image can then be shared with your colleagues or friends through email, chat, or any other app that you’re using. Customizing these reports is easier because of all the aforementioned new features and options and these reports can easily be saved on the dashboard so you can follow them up later if needed.
The update has rolled out to the Google Play Store so check your account if you already have it. If not, you can always check out APK files if you can’t wait anymore.
