Xiaomi is set to unveil another product that will shake not only the Chinese mobile industry but the rest of the world. Why, this rumored Xiaomi tablet is said to run a Snapdragon 820 processor and knowing Xiaomi, the device will still be affordable. That’s what fans love about the company. Xiaomi is willing to and can actually make products that are affordable without the specs being compromised.
The Xiaomi tablet is more of a phablet (phone-tablet). It’s too big for a smartphone but too small to be a full tablet so it’s somewhere in between. The Chinese OEM is expected to release the phablet soon. We have no timeline but we’re assuming this 2nd quarter or the next.
The company held an online poll on what to call the product and the name ‘Xiaomi Max’ won. Some photos have recently leaked online and now we have an idea that it will have a massive screen at 6.4-inches.
These photos of the device’s front panel show very thin side bezels, an earpiece and a sensor on top of the screen, earpiece, and capacitive keys below the screen– on the chin. Design-wise, the Xiaomi Max looks like any other Xiaomi smartphones introduced recently especially the new Mi 5 but sans the hardware home button in front. Such button usually has a fingerprint reader embedded and we’re guessing it’s located at the back–very much like the Mi 4s and Redmi Note 3.
Not much information on the specs but we learned it will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset and will be housed in a full metal body.
