So it’s getting to that time, just a day or so from the actual launch of Huawei’s newest smartphone, the Huawei P9. There have been lots of leaks for us to build some sort of picture of what the new phone will look like, but here’s the clincher – probably as close to confirming the specs as you can before launch – a benchmark result giving us a look at what the Huawei P9 has under the hood.

First up, we already know that the P9 will be sticking with the 5.2-inch screen, and the benchmark says that it will be at the very least FullHD (1080p) in resolution. It will be powered by a Kirin 955 octa-core processor with core speeds of up to 2.5GHz. It will be supported by 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

At this point, all we need to see is how fast this Kirin chipset will perform, because judging from these specs, pundits are fearing this might be a middling device for Huawei, and not a flagship level one. We already talked about the Leica camera with dual-lens configuration, which will probably top out at 12MP.

It’s not going to be long now, so we wait in anticipation of what Huawei will bring to the table with the P9. What do you guys think about it?
