Aside from the Moto X3, we can expect a new Moto E from Lenovo-Motorola. There might be some changes this year as the Moto phone could be the XT1700 or XT1706 from Lenovo. The Moto series will not be a thing of the past because Lenovo vowed that it will not put an end to the successful series. What may happen is that Lenovo devices will now carry the Moto name but we’re not sure yet.
GFXBench has been a great source of information about upcoming devices and recently spotted on the benchmark website were two Lenovo devices–models XT1700 and XT1706. These two could be introduced as the two new Moto E variants equipped with a 5-inch screen, 1280×720 pixel HD IPS display, 294ppi, Gorilla Glass cover, 1.0GHz Mediatek MT6735 quad-core chipset, Mali-T720 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, microSD card for storage expansion, and dual sim support. When it comes to imaging, there will be a 5MP front-facing shooter and an 8MP main camera (LED flash/1080p video recording). There’s also the standard connectivity features: Bluetooth 4.0,GPS, WiFi, microUSB port, 3G, and 4G/LTE.
The two Lenovo models will both run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and may be coated with water repellant coating if they will be launched as the 2016 Moto E phones. Now that’s a cool feature right there which means that upcoming devices will be ready for accidental water splashes and spills.
