A demo video of Blackberry Priv sporting Android Marshmallow was leaked last week. Priv users have been anticipating for the good news but it’s taking BlackBerry a while to roll out the update. We just learned that it’s already being tested and will be ready in May. Self-confessed BlackBerry geek Michael Clewley hinted about this on April Fool’s day but he was worried people might not believe him and think it’s a joke. Well, it’s not. Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the BlackBerry Priv is really coming soon.
On April 1, April Fool’s Day, BlackBerry officially shared the company’s performance for the 1st quarter in a conference. We were hoping for good numbers but unfortunately, the Canadian smartphone pioneer only brought in $464 million in revenue. Operating loss was $18 million and lost $220 million of deferred revenue from acquisitions.
BlackBerry will still remain in the business and they plan to make things better but we don’t know yet how exactly or if it will ever push through with the mid-range Android BlackBerry. You see, things didn’t turn out well although it’s still just the first quarter.
BlackBerry didn’t show off Android Marshmallow features but it’s good enough that we know it’s being tested. Owners of the first Android-powered BlackBerry phone must only be patient in waiting for Android 6.0. It’s coming soon. Just. You. Wait.
