We wish it was always this easy – and by “this” we mean adding mecha, space marines, chainsaws, and spaceships to your favorite board game. Imagine how Settlers of Catan would be more interesting than it already is. This is what Nomad Games and Games Workshop has done with “Talisman: The Horus Heresy” – it has brought a board game to mobile and filled it with Warhammer 40,000 elements and a storyline.
For those who are not familiar, Talisman has been around as a table-top RPG for over a decade now. It has grown in popularity and endured because the developers of the game have constantly introduced revisions and expansions that keep the game fresh and balanced. Now, exchange the fantasy theme with Warhammer elements and you get Talisman: The Horus Heresy.
The Android version of the board game now translates to a mobile game the familiar elements of the table-top RPG – you can even play local multiplayer with up to four people. There’s also a single player campaign where you play against the AI, if you don’t have any Talisman/Warhammer geeks around you.
The game is now available to pick up at the link below, with the premium price of USD$4.99. The game also has in-app purchases topping out at one dollar, and unfortunately it’s not compatible with Android TV yet.
