You’ve probably had an email exchange with several colleagues that seems to have been never ending with all the back and forth involved and you wished that it was just a chat conversation to better facilitate, reply and read through all of them. Well, an app that iOS users have been enjoying is now available for Android devices. MailTime brings the things we love about SMS/messaging and applies it to email threads so you can actually respond and read through said emails faster.
The app says it “blurs the lines between instant messaging (IM) and emailing” by bringing in these chat elements to turn your emails into conversations that are easier to manage. Basically what it has is a content parsing engine that removes the useless metadata from your email that you don’t need and then puts everything in bubbles, which most messaging apps have been doing lately. If the emails are just conversations, then this app may be for you. But if your email exchanges involve files and complicated layouts, then you might want to stick to your original email app of choice.
When you’ve downloaded the MailTime app, you’ll be asked to log in to your email account/accounts. It will prioritize showing emails from friends rather than the usual organization that apps like Gmail, Inbox use. The app supports various email services like Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, Outlook, IMAP Mail, AOL, Microsoft Office 365, Hotmail, MSN, Mail.ru, QQ, 163, 126, Google Apps Mail and others. It can also host multiple accounts on the app service.
You can download MailTime from the Google Play Store for free. There are no in-app purchases or ads, and all the funding comes from seed investors.
