If you’re a huge Pokemon fan, then probably the most awaited thing in your life right now would be the release of Pokemon GO!, an augmented reality game that will turn the most die-hard fans into creature chasing addicts running around the city. And while the teaser announcement came out months ago, we still haven’t gotten an actual release date and more specific details about the gameplay involved. But Niantic continues to tease us, although more details have been released, and apparently some lucky people over in Japan are beta testing it already.
The makers have revealed several more details about the game, although we still don’t have a gameplay video so not everything is clear at this point, although everything is exciting. For example some of the wild Pokemons can only appear in their native environment like water. And to catch them or any other Pokemon, you would actually need Poke Balls, which you can get at PokeStops. You will be able to see PokeStops at places like public art installations, historical places, monuments, etc.
Obviously there are a lot of Pokes going on here. There are even Pokemon Eggs that will hatch if you walk a certain number of steps. And if you play this game often enough, you’ll probably be able to rise to trainer level, where you apparently get a lot more goodies but you’re required to do several more activities like battling. We really can’t wait to see a gameplay video to see how all these things will come together.
Reports are saying that there are some lucky players in Japan who are already beta testing the game, even though it is still officially in active development. The only commitment we’ve gotten from Niantic so far is that Pokemon Go will launch later this year for Android devices.
