April 6 is fast approaching and this means the new Huawei P9 will finally see its light of day. The OEM which is the current King in the Chinese mobile market distributed press invites for the official launch next month while Huawei P9 variants where leaked over a week ago. At first glance, you would think that it’s just like any other Huawei phone but there are two cameras at the back.
Most smartphone have two cameras but just one in front and one at the back. This mystery Huawei phone is believed to have a 12MP dual rear camera and an unknown front-facing cam. The two cameras look like two O’s that’s why the brand is advertising the phone with a #OO hashtag. Lots of circles on the marketing campaign materials, urging us to “Change the way you see the world”.
An official page is up, showing off a hidden mobile device that is described as dynamic, defining, and different. We’re guessing this one will be another imaging-centric phone with all the attention being given to the cameras. And oh, it was only yesterday when the Huawei President was seen using a purported P9 with dual cameras.
You can’t find the phone in the video but last week’s Oppomart leak which is surprisingly still accessible, tells us the next Huawei flagship device will have three variants: Huawei P9, Huawei P9 Lite, and Huawei P9 Max.
Specs of each phone vary: 5/5.2/6-inch screens, 2GHz Kirin 950/955 octa-core or 1.5GHz Snapdragon 650 chipset, 16/32/64GB onboard storage, 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM, and 2500-3000mAh battery. All three variants will have a 12 megapixel dual rear camera system with OIS, 4G/LTE connectivity, and EMUI.
