While you were reading a book on your 6-inch e-ink ebook reader, did you ever think to yourself, “Man, I wish I had a much bigger device than this!” If your answer is yes, then you might want to head on over to IndieGoGo and put your money where your eyes are because there is a 13.3-inch Android e-reader that needs your help to get made.

Good e-reader (which brought you the semi-successful Ultimate e-reader a few months ago) is crowdfunding this huge device that will let you read EPUB and PDF, highlight and annotate, write down notes and even install Android apps. The screen is supported by WACOM stylus and so you’ll get “pin-point precision” is what they’re promising as well. And of course since it uses an E Ink Mobius screen, your eyes won’t get fatigued and you can bring it out in sunlight and still be able to read anything without being blinded or obstructed.

You might ask, who would want a device that’s more than twice the size of a regular ebook reader? Well if you spend a lot of time pouring over documents like if you’re a teacher, lawyer, legislator, researcher, etc, you would probably want a bigger screen that’s less strenuous on the eyes. And if you devour your ebooks, graphic novels, magazines, newspapers, etc, then a 13.3-inch screen would be welcome, portability be damned. Plus, you get to install some apps as well through the Google Play Store.

So if this is a project you believe in and you know you want something like this in your life, you still have 2 months left to back it up on IndieGoGo. Good e-reader has already reached 45% of their flexible goal, so you have time, if you have the money. You just need to shell out at least $699 plus shipping to have one of these 13.3-inch e-reader. Estimated delivery is September 2016.

This is a crowdfunded project, and as such may not deliver what its creators initially promise. Most crowdfunding sites, like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, have policies about what happens to your money if the project fails to deliver on its goals, but choosing to back a project is inevitably a risk. Android Community’s reporting on crowdfunded projects should in no way be seen as an endorsement, unless specifically stated, and we recommend closely examining the terms and conditions to understand your individual rights as a backer before making a pledge.
