So we were all pretty blown away when we discovered that Minecraft will feature on the Oculus Rift – just recently bought by Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook and one of the top tier virtual reality (VR) headsets out there to date. All the hands-on (eyes-on?) experiences seem to be pointing to a great VR experience with Minecraft. But what is this? It seems that Microsoft and Samsung are also getting in bed together to bring Minecraft to the Samsung Gear VR as well.

To be honest, the Samsung Gear VR is probably one of the most accessible of the high-end VR headsets we have in the market to date – and yes, they’re all pretty expensive. At the very least, Samsung’s Gear VR is available to those who may have purchased bundles with their Samsung Galaxy Note 5, or the recently released Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge. The Oculus Rift still feels like a toy for the rich.

So we hear that the execution for Minecraft on the Samsung Gear VR system will be pretty close to what people have seen on the Oculus. So this means a lot of good things for people who desperately want to play Minecraft VR, but don’t have the money to get an Oculus.

There is no information yet on how much the game app will cost, if ever – just that it will exist. There is no info yet also on a launch date, but we will keep a close eye on this for you guys.
