Whether you like it or not (and most probably don’t), selfies are here to stay, especially with a lot of smartphones now coming up with features to help you take better pictures with the front-facing camera of your device. So probably instead of constantly complaining about it, some developers thought they might as well help people enhance their secondary camera game, and hopefully in the process, be better photographers in general. One of these apps is the Eye Candy – Selfie Camera, now available for Android devices.
The app not only helps you take pretty pictures but gives you the tools to enhance and make them more than just images of your OOTD or your SOTD (selfie of the day). Calling itself a “professional selfie camera”, it has the usual filters, editing tools, and sharing options that you would expect from a camera app, but it’s of course being marketed for those who prefer taking their own pictures or having everyone in the picture in a “groufie”.
The filters need not only be applied after you’ve taken the picture but they can be used as real time live filters so you can see how it will look like before you even take a picture. You can also use more than one filter if you want to, but the other filters can be added after you’ve taken the photo. The app also has collage makers, the ability to switch between front and back cameras, an emergency selfie widget that can be found on your home screen, and many other features.
You can download the Eye Candy – Selfie Camera from the Google Play Store for free. There are still several in-app purchases available for more features.
the main problem I have with eye candy is that it watermarks every photo you take, which is no good. I do not need “Eye Candy” plastered over the bottom right of any photo I take ever. Uninstalled.
