The Samsung Galaxy S7/s7 edge duo is slowing getting an edge against the competition (aka LG G5) when it comes to getting positive reviews and more people tinkering inside the device. We’re still working on that in-depth analysis and review but while waiting, we find it interesting to discover different components, as well as, special features and functions.

Samsung has added a cool new feature on the Galaxy S7: WiFi repeater/extender. It is exactly what you think it is. There’s a feature on your new Galaxy S7 or S7 edge that lets you share your Wi-Fi connection with other devices. So it’s tethering then? No, not really. It’s more of extending and repeating Wi-Fi to provide a stronger connection for other devices.

The Galaxy S7/S7 edge’s Wi-Fi tethering is already good. The mobile hotspot feature is now made even better by allowing it to “extend” the connection with other phones, tablets, or laptops. You may say there’s no need to do that because a device can just connect to the WiFi network directly. However, the feature can be useful during those weird, unfortunate times that a device can’t connect for whatever reason to the same network. Simply enable the feature and share the WiFi to another device.

This special feature is only exclusive to S7 and S7 edge. This means even your Galaxy S6/S6 edge running the latest OS version doesn’t have the WiFi sharing function. It can only be found on the latest flagships but the newest Galaxy A lineup for 2016 doesn’t have it either.
