Samsung’s Android Marshmallow timetable leaked (again)

Now that there are actual people, owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge devices, who are receiving the Android Marshmallow update, the next big question is: when will the other Samsung smartphones get theirs? There is no official word from the OEM yet, but a leaked document supposedly shows the timetable for all of last year’s (and even some from the previous year) devices. The surprise here is that the Galaxy Alpha is also included in the update.

Of course the priority to receive the update are the ones that were released last and are part of the flagship: the aforementioned Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5. They are receiving their update as we speak and probably in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, 2014’s Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge will be updated by April 2016. The flagship from 2014, the Galaxy S5 will be receiving its Marshmallow by May, while the Galaxy Alpha will also surprisingly get an update by June.

As for tablets, the Galaxy Tab S2 8” and 9.7” will also be getting upgraded to Android 6 by May 2016 too. In the list of non-flagships that will receive Marshmallow, only one is on the list for now and that is the Galaxy A7 (2016), although there is no month set yet. We can expect the others in its family, like the Galaxy A5 (2016) to receive an update as well.

Of course this is not official yet, but so far, those timetable leaks have been pretty accurate, at least when it comes to the timeframe. We’re looking forward to the day when all new Android devices can finally say they’ve been Marshmallow-ized already.
