When Blackberry announced that they were releasing their first smartphone that will use the Android platform, a lot were surprised, and even more were skeptical. But the Priv proved to be something of a dark horse when it comes to high-end devices and while it is not enough to say that Blackberry will become a huge player in the Android market, it is a good start. Now two of the apps for the device, the Camera and the Keyboard, are receiving updates.

The Blackberry Keyboard is for those who would rather use a virtual keyboard every once in a while rather than the physical keyboard that comes with the Priv, which is one of its selling points. The update sees improvements when it comes to predictions, corrections, and controls. There is now an option to include email and text messages in its learning curve so that the predictions and corrections are more customized to your writing style. It can also now learn word/number combinations and has improved cursor control from the physical keyboard.

Meanwhile, for the Blackberry Camera app, you now have the option to use slow motion video, for when you want to achieve a dramatic effect or when you want to focus on details on the video you’re taking. It has also now improved selfie stick compatibility, as more people choose to use it to take group pictures or even just their own.

The beauty about these two apps is that the updates are coursed through the Google Play Store so it’s easier for users. You can check if your Blackberry Camera and Blackberry Keyboard apps have now received their updates.
