Managing our email lives has been so much easier ever since developers started creating apps that would let us deal with our mountains of email simply by swiping through them. Inbox by Gmail has been one of the most helpful ones (especially when Dropbox decided to drop Mailbox) and the latest update from Google is that we now have even more options for Snoozing (which has been another lifesaver) our emails and we can also now choose which weekend days actually work for and apply to you.
The Snooze option for emails has definitely made our lives easier as you can just dismiss emails that you receive in order to read them later, and not forget since they will actually appear in your Inbox again. The update now brings two of the highly-requested options, which is “later this week” and “this weekend”. It will actually help decrease the time we spend using the customize option, if what we want to do is not “later today”, “tomorrow”, “next week”, or “someday” (yes, that is an option).
As for the “this weekend” option, Gmail understands that not all weekends are the same for all people. There are places where the weekend is different from what we normally know. The options are Saturday-Sunday, Friday-Saturday, Thursday-Friday, Friday only, Saturday only, and Sunday only. So if you choose to snooze you email to “this weekend”, then it will show up on whatever default days you set the weekend settings.
These changes will be included in the update to Inbox by Gmail, which will be rolling out next week. Just keep on checking when it’s already available for your app, update it, and then swipe away.
