Acer has just introduced a handful of new Android smartphones at the MWC 2016 in Barcelona this week: the Liquid Zest,  Liquid Zest 4G, and the Liquid Jade 2. The phones were announced together with the newest BYOC strategy of the Taiwanese electronics giant. Acer seems to haver really prepared for the Mobile World Congress as the smartphones are powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow and not just Lollipop.

Acer’s new Liquid Jade 2 comes equipped with a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED screen, 21MP main camera (autofocus and 4K video), 8MP selfie shooter (with “Pause N Shoot” and 84-degree wide angle), DTS Headphone:X audio, 3GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage,  and a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset.

There’s also the Liquid Zest and Liquid Zest 4G that boast off 5-inch HD IPS display screens, 8MP rear camera (f/2.0 auto-focus), and a 5MP front camera (wide-angle lens). When it comes to audio quality, there’s DTS Sound Studio for the Liquid Zest and DTS HD Premium Sound for the 4G version of the phone. The smartphones will be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA region) this coming April and May. The entry-level Liquid Zest will be €109 ($120) and €149 ($165) for the Liquid Zest 4G.

Aside from the phones, Acer also introduced the newest BYOC (Build Your Own Cloud)  developments. These are new products and services that are ideal for the connected and smart home technology. When it comes to the Connected Car game, secure software updates are ready over-the-air (OTA) with the OTA+ standards. This makes data transfer faster, more secure, and more efficient.

When it comes to businesses, Acer is offering several solutions that will enhance a number of areas in communications and digital signage. It makes use of several sensors and big data analytics to display show situation-aware information. Acer has also introduced its IP-based unified communications solution for businesses.

For education, Acer has announced the Acer CloudProfessor IoT Education Kit and Brainwave Analysis Applications. The CloudProfessor is a source of information about the IoT. Meanwhile, the smart home arena gets an improved health monitoring and home security options. Remote diagnostics is done by the Kubi telepresence robot created by Revolve Robotics.
