While a lot of people are still waiting for their Android devices to be upgraded to the latest Marshmallow update, some devices haven’t even made it to the Android 5.0 Lollipop stage yet. If you own a Motorola Droid Ultra, Maxx, or Mini, then we have bad news and semi-good news for you. The bad news is that the OEM has announced that these devices will not be getting the upgrade that they previously hoped for.

The kind of good news is that if you’re looking to upgrade, then they’re giving you a significant discount if you’d like to purchase the current iterations of similar devices, which already have Lollipop and are also planned to upgrade to Marshmallow. Two devices are being offered for users of the aforementioned smartphones who would like to have a Marshmallow gadget. The Droid Turbo 2 was released last October and has a 5.4” display, running on Snapdragon 810, a 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and a 21MP main cam. The SRP is $624 but you’ll be able to buy it at $524 if you own any of the non-Marshmallow devices mentioned earlier.

The other device is the Droid Maxx 2, with relatively lower specs but a slightly larger screen at 5.5”. It has a Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage (expandable through a microSD card), plus also a 21MP main camera. The original price is $384 but the special discount is $334. Not much difference, but still a discount if you’re saving pennies.

To be able to avail of this special offer, your Ultra, Maxx, or Mini need to still have an active phone number. You will be asked to enter the last four digits of your IMEI and then your phone number or the serial number of your device. The offer expires by May 19 of this year but the promo code must be redeemed by June 2.
