Apologies to those in India who are fond of shopping at Amazon. The e-commerce website is changing its policy on returns. Amazon just made some adjustments in the country as noted on the return policy page. All orders for mobile phone orders fulfilled by Amazon will no longer be eligible for returns. Sorry but starting February 7, you can’t return the unit you ordered from Amazon India as the company will no longer accept it.

Amazon isn’t dropping its responsibility to the customers. They can’t just return the stuff but they can always have them replaced for free if the product is damaged, missing, or defective but only within 10 days from the date of purchase or delivery. You have to be sure that you want a particular model because you can’t easily return it now.

The updated policy reads:

All Mobile phones that are fulfilled by Amazon, purchased on or after 7th February 2016, will have a replacement only policy. Mobile phone items that are fulfilled by Amazon will no longer be eligible for refunds. In case you have received a defective or a damaged mobile phone, you will be eligible for a free replacement.

Is this a complete bummer to you? Maybe not everyone will care about it but if you’re the kind of person who is not easily satisfied, you may want to think twice before buying from Amazon directly. You can try Flipkart if you want so you can return the items without any hassle.
