Are you ready to have a mobile game that will scream at you if you don’t do things right? Well, we expect nothing less from a game based on volatile but popular celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay as Glu announced that they have signed a partnership with him to develop a mobile game. With five international TV shows, a string of successful restaurants, as well as a high social media following, it was probably expected that he would then branch out in the possibly lucrative world of mobile gaming.
The exclusive agreement between the two parties means that the game can use his name, image, likeness, and voice and that he will of course have creative direction over the game that is currently being developed. And if you base it on the reputation that Ramsay has cultivated over the years, you cannot expect a nice and “quiet” Diner Dash kind of game where Flo is still the nicest even when frazzled and pressured. Those who will download and play the game will expect nothing less than the Gordon Ramsay that they know and love (and sometimes detest).
Glu Chairman and CEO Niccolo de Masi says that they might have a “recipe for success” due to their reputation as a leader in time-management games like Cooking Dash and Diner Dash, as well as Ramsay’s global reach, with reality competition shows like Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef, as well as other docu-type shows like Gordon’s Great Escapes.
The game is set to be released by summer 2016. Nothing much is known at this point, but Glu promised to release updates later on, as well as reveal what Gordon Ramsay’s involvement will be.
