More smartphones are set to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the coming months. The next Motorola smartphone to be updated is the 2014 version of the Moto X. Earlier this month, we noted that more Moto devices are getting the much-awaited Marshmallow update including different Moto X variants released in 2014 like the Moto X and Moto X Pure Edition.

Motorola is proud to announce that the OTA update for the unlocked Moto X (2014) has rolled out already. Some owners should be receiving notifications now especially in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Brazil, and India. The last two countries are two emerging markets where Motorola smartphones are more popular.

This particular update is 884MB in size so make sure you have at least 1GB of free storage space or more. If you don’t see the on-the-air notification yet, you can always check manually for the version. Go to your phone’s Settings> System updates. The unlocked Moto X Pure Edition should be easy to update to Android Marshmallow with a few clicks.

This Android 6.0 Marshmallow platform will deliver new features to your smartphone including Doze Mode, Now on Tap for quicker access, Android Pay for mobile payments, better volume controls, and direct share for quick sharing to contacts.
