It’s always the dream of every Star Wars fan (and probably future fans who will be watching their first one with The Force Awakens) to own and wield their very own lightsaber. But of course, except for the to plastic version, it’s hard to expensive to get a hold of one. Well, now you can turn your smartphone into your very own lightsaber. Sort of. A new browser-based Chrome game will let you use your phone as your very own weapon as you escape the First Order.

The game is set on a Star Destroyer where you are a Jedi warrior trying to escape and fight against the determined stormtroopers. Your only weapon is the force and your lightsaber, which for the purposes of this game, is your smartphone. You will undergo a training of sorts first, where you will learn to defend yourself from blasters and then you learn to deflect the shots back to your enemy. There even is a boss stormtrooper level which has an extremely difficult stormtrooper that you need to beat.

But first things first. You need to calibrate your smartphone by going to a specific url that should be the same as on your desktop browser. Once they’re both on the same page, the calibration will start and may take some time to finish due to the high number of people playing the game. Once it has finished, then you immediately start on your adventure.

The browser-based game is absolutely free. But you need to use Chrome of course for this to work. And you might have to endure weird stares from people when they see you wielding your smartphone. Or they’ll probably join in the fun until you have a whole floor of smartphone-wielding jedi wannabes.
