More good news this holiday shopping season: Samsung has added more merchant gift cards to be supported by its very own mobile payment solution. Samsung Pay now supports around 50 merchant gift cards for the convenience of the shoppers. This means you can do more with your Samsung Pay account now than ever before. If you haven’t tried Samsung Pay, it’s time to consider this mobile payment method, that is, if you have a Samsung Galaxy device supported.
Samsung Pay only works on the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, and Galaxy Note 5 in the US. Those who got their latest premium Galaxy from T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and US Cellular will be happy to know that you can make the most of Samsung Pay as more merchants, stores, and establishments accept mobile payments. The tech giant partnered with a number of companies and groups including Blackhawk Network, Staples, Regal Entertainment Group, GameStop, eBay, Domino’s, Bass Pro Shops, Toys “R” Us, and Babies “R” Us. If you’re not done with your Christmas shopping, go ahead and shop at these places.
Samsung promised that more will be supported in the next few months. More gift card options will be included. You can also use Samsung Pay to buy gift cards to give your family and friends. If you are too busy to shop for gifts, just head on to the section within the app where you can buy gift cards to give away. You don’t have to go out and meet the mad crowd of holiday shoppers when you do the “shopping” right on the Samsung Pay app.
What makes Samsung Pay effective is the fact that it can work on existing terminals. Whether it’s NFC, EMV, or magnetic stripe, Samsung Pay will be accepted. It’s safe and secure as made possible by fingerprint authentication, Samsung KNOX, and tokenization. Samsung is still working on the mobile payment system to work on older devices.
