While a lot of people are really going all-digital by signing up for mobile payment services and trying e-wallets, a group on Kickstarter is working on a new project that aims to make a hi-tech wallet. Actually, it’s just more of a power bank that holds your credit cards. Or you can say it’s a credit card holder that can charge your mobile devices.
Pocket, the Supercharged Wallet, is a project by a team called Phorce. This super thin wallet can juice up your gadgets whenever you’re about to run out of battery. Power up two devices simultaneously so you don’t have to worry about empty batts.
While not using it to charge, you can use to guess what–finish your shopping. One press of a button and you can pull out a credit card that isn’t maxed out yet. We’re advocates of the digital wallet but if you think that tapping your phone on a terminal to pay for purchases is more dangerous, then go ahead, take advantage of this Pocket.
The Pocket wallet-slash-power-bank can power up the latest smartphones like your Galaxy S6, iPhone 6S, wireless headphones, and even your GoPro. As described, Pocket can charge the S6 up to 35%, iPhone 6S 50%, GoPro Hero4 to 80%, on-ear wireless headphones 400%, and in-ear Wireless headphones up to 1,000%. There’s also a Card Spring mechanism that is currently patent pending. You can store up to six cards inside–traditional or NFC cards. There’s a red Quick Strap that lets you quickly clip your bills because obviously, you still need cash.
Pocket is very light and thin at only 15mm and 69 grams. The team already has a prototype to make it into full production before the June 2016 shipping schedule but Phorce needs your help. It’s raising $200,000 with more than one month of soliciting for possibly generous backers. Right now, over $11K have been pledge by 1723 backers.
If you believe in this project, head on to Kickstarter and send in your donation. A minimum of $59 donation, Phorce will send you one Phorce Pocket with four extra Quick Straps for the early birds. A generous $5,000, the team will send you 80 Phorce Pockets with four extra Quick Straps each that are available in blue, silver, green, or black. Phorce Pocket is pegged to cost $99 but that could still change.
