No need to wait that long as the ASUS ZenFone Max showcased in a promo video is now official. A dedicated product page is currently viewable on the ASUS website, telling us that the new ZenFone Max will have the ultimate energy as it can last longer than most smartphones available in the market today. Making this smartphone a big winner is the 5000mAh battery that can hold up to 38 days worth of battery.
Thirty-eight days is quite long for a mobile device battery but that’s just the ideal battery life. It will still depend on how you use the phone and if you turn off the display or enable a number of features. Using the ZenFone Max, 3G talk time can last up to 37.6 hours, WiFi web browsing up to 32.5 hours, and 22.5 hours of video playback.
The 5000mAh lithium-polymer battery is large for a phone, even beating some older tablets in the market today. You’ll wonder how ASUS was able to pack that extra-large battery in a very small frame.
The Asus ZenFone Max runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box on top of ZenUI. Specs include a 5.5-inch 720p HD display, 13 megapixel rear camera with laser auto focus, 5MP front-facing selfie shooter, 4G/LTE connectivity, 16GB built-in storage, Corning Gorilla Glass 4, 64-bit Qualcomm 8916 CPU, 450MHz Adreno 306 GPU, and 2GB RAM. Design-wise, the phone features a faux leather rear cover and highlights a metal-effect bezel. We’re not sure if its full plastic or all-metal but really, the main attraction of this phone is the 5000mAh battery.
Still not convinced that the battery is powerful? This unit can also work as a power bank. This definitely means it’s powerful enough to juice up other small mobile devices that are about to run out of battery especially when you’re always on-the-go.
Still no word on pricing and availability but this phone seems to be premium so we’re thinking probably it’s within the high-end category.
