Don’t be surprised if you hear of problems with the latest Nexus phones. We’ve been hearing a lot of issues lately including the upside down images and some USB Type C problems on the Nexus 5X. As for the Nexus 6P, we’ve learned of the spontaneous cracking of glass visor, delay in shipping, and the fact that it bends easily.

Another problem has been reported as noticed by several phone users. During some voice calls, a number of Nexus 6P owners can’t be heard. Voice quality seems to be poor as noted by some users on XDA Developers and Google Product Forum. The issue has been a topic of several threads already, saying that calls aren’t clear when using the speakerphone or just the standard call mode. Google immediately said they are already working on it. We’re guessing a simple firmware update will do.

Google has not made an official statement or solution yet but this should be easily fixed. A few “victims” said that disabling the noise cancellation feature fixed the problem. However, it would only work with a root-level build.prop modification. Turn off noise cancellation with a build prop and see for yourself if it will work on both Nexus models–the Nexus 5X and 6P. If this is the case, then we can say it’s more of a software issue from the tech giant.

This could just be a mic problem but whatever it is, we’re hoping Google releases a fix sooner than soon. We’ll see.

  1. Choosing Huawei was the mistake.. The Motorola Nexus 6 has much better cell reception and call quality. With my 6P where I used to have at least 1 bar of service I now have none.
