China-based manufacturer ZTE is planning to grab a bigger slice of the Russian market by putting out three new smartphones for them to appreciate and hopefully buy. ZTE has already put out the Blade X7 smartphone in this market, and it looks like they are bullish about their chances of enlarging their market share. The three new devices are all from their Blade line of products, the Blade X3, Blade X5, and the Blade X9.
The Blade X9 is presumably the most high-end device of the group, although it is in truth a midranger compared to other devices in the global market. The X9 has a 5.5-inch FullHD (1080p) IPS LCD screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor and 2GB RAM. The chipset gives you 4G LTE connectivity, and it also has 16GB internal storage, a 3,000mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor at the back.
The Blade X5 is has a 5-inch HD (720p) IPS LCD screen, powered by a MediaTek MT6735 chipset which gives you 64-bit quad-core performance, supported by 1GB RAM. The chipset also gives you 4G LTE connectivity. The X5 is particularly aimed at selfie lovers, with an 8MP front and back camera combo. There’s a small round dent at the back which you would think is a fingerprint sensor, but it’s actually a dedicated shutter button for the camera.
The Blade X3 is the entry level offering, but it also has almost the same internal specs as the X5. It sports the same screen, MediaTek chipset and RAM quantity – but differs in one aspect. It has a monster 4,000mAh battery, which should give you more than one day of battery life. And unlike the X5, it only has a 2MP selfie camera up front. No pricing has been announced for these phones yet, but the Blade X7, which was the first ZTEphone announced in the Russian market, retails at around USD$230. We can probably infer the pricing from there.
