Sometimes, there are some things that can be better said if you just take a video of yourself and send it to whomever you want, instead of just emailing or messaging or even sending pictures to him/her/them. Also, it’s more fun to make video messages, if you’re that comfortable in front of the “camera” and not afraid to look goofy or stupid or vulnerable. So Skype wants to enhance its video messaging features by letting you add fun filters as video effects before recording them.
The video messaging feature of Skype lets you record and send these visual notes to your contacts, whether or not they’re online. They can view it any time they want and of course save it for future multiple viewings. With the latest update, you can add another element to your reminder, message, love note, etc. In the video message window, you’ll see a filter wand and when you tap it, there’s a whole lot of options to choose from. Before you record, you can try to see it in action so you can determine which best suits your message.
If it’s a happy birthday or happy anniversary greeting, you can choose to add balloons or confetti. You can make your face rounder or longer or even more distorted. Now that Halloween is near, you can also add ghosts or the negative filter. So once you’ve chosen the filter, just hit record and it will be layered onto your video. Click send and it’s on its way to whomever you’re sending it to.
You can download the latest update to Skype for Android so you can enjoy this new filter for video messages feature. It also has other bug fixes and improvements as well.
