Less than two weeks after announcing that Samsung Pay will be ready on premium flagships from the brand, Verizon has finally rolled out the update that will bring the new mobile payment feature. This means your Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, and Note 5 from Verizon Wireless can soon enjoy the mobile payment service from the South Korean tech giant.
Other mobile carriers like T-Mobile, AT&T, and US Cellular are also working to activate the Samsung Pay feature but Verizon is the first we know to roll out the said update. This particular update also includes patches for Stagefright vulnerabilites. If you own any of the premium Samsung flagships we mentioned, expect to receive a FOTA so you can start downloading Samsung Pay from the Google Play Store.
Verizon has sent out a message to subscribers about the availability of Samsung Pay. Verizon boasts that Samsung Pay is accepted anywhere where a credit card can be swiped or tapped. It’s safe, secure, and always ready to use. It’s easier to pay now in retail stores because you only need to launch the Samsung Pay app and secure with fingerprint as authentication.
We didn’t see the official announcement by Verizon but a Redditor named ‘Zenike’ shared the news on the website. Samsung is releasing the update slowly on different devices so just wait for the notification to arrive on your phone. It should arrive anytime soon.
