Google Cardboard and its virtual reality capabilities may not still be that mainstream, but the more features that will be added to this and various other apps, then the appeal to users will continue to grow. This time, Google Street View is being virtualized if you use Google’s VR toy when you view the app, which has just recently been separated from the main Google Maps app. You can get a better view of the place you’re virtually looking at, as if you’re actually there.
When you’re wearing your Google Cardboard and you open the Street View app which is now on version 2.0, put your device on cardboard mode. Tap on the Cardboard icon and the screen will split in two, which will give you a more natural view as if you’re still there. So now you have “two unique eyes” that will give you slightly different views of the street you’re looking at.
This actually isn’t the first time that Google Street View has gone into virtual reality territory. But since it has now become a separate app, you don’t need to go through the extra step of going to Google Street Maps and then switching to Street View just to be able to do this.
If you haven’t downloaded the Street View app yet, you can get it from the Google Play Store. If you already have and the update hasn’t reached you yet, you can get the APK Mirror if you can’t wait for the official release yet.
