Jetpack Joyride brings you Back to the Future theme for October

With the 30th anniversary of seminal sci-fi comedy film franchise Back to the Future coming up this October, fans are probably looking for various ways to celebrate their favorite film. Mobile game series Jetpack Joyride is more than happy to oblige, as they release a new themed event within the game which can be played for free within the month. You get to try out all your favorite elements from the movie and even get to play three of the most popular and iconic characters from the movies.

Your goal in this new game mode, set in Hill Valley 2015, will be to collect the Flux Capacitors and points along the way. And since the game is actually a time trial mode, you will need the capacitors to extend your playing time, with each one adding an additional 5 seconds to your clock. But when you collide with anything as you jetpack your way around, a 10-second deduction will be given to you.

The Flux Capacitors will also unlock the three iconic characters we mentioned, which of course are Marty McFly, Doc Brown, and Biff Tannen. As a bonus for unlocking any of these three, you get to use them as costumes when you play the “normal” non-Back to the Future Jetpack Joyride.

You’ll be able to play the theme for free this October, but by next month, you’ll have to pay a $9.99 in-app purchase to be able to have access to all these, including the Amped Up ’85 Guitar Jetpack, the hoverboard, DeLorean Time Machine, and Hill Valley 2015 background, former. Or at least, until Jetpack Joyride remains in existence.
