The patent war between Apple and Samsung will never be over. It’s been years and the two tech giants continue to battle it out in the gadget field. We’ve lost count of how many complaints and lawsuits have been filed against each other but another development may give the Cupertino company an edge over the South Korean brand.
A recent ruling in the United States was handed down, giving Apple a legal edge against Samsung. This decision has something to do with patented features like slide-to-unlock, spelling recommendations, and phone number recognitions. These three patents belong to Apple says the court in a 2-1 ruling. These were the same patents in question where Samsung lost against Apple in a $119 million verdict.
Apple already filed an injunction before, requesting that Samsung would be banned from selling devices that use the said patents. Unfortunately, Judge Lucy Koh denied the particular request. Apple submitted legal requirements and enough evidence that there’s “irreparable harm” which satisfied the appeals court.
Apple isn’t totally evil in this case. The company’s proposed injunction doesn’t really want to ban devices by Samsung from being sold in the market. Samsung is only requesting to remove those features. In other words, we won’t have to be deprived from getting the products from Samsung. Just remove those patented features and Apple will be happy. “Apple does not seek to enjoin the sale of lifesaving drugs, but to prevent Samsung from profiting from the unauthorized use of infringing features in its cellphones and tablets,” explains Judge Kimberly Moore in a written decision.
Apple simply wants to “prevent Samsung from profiting from the unauthorized use of infringing features in its cellphones and tablets” according to the court. It’s not really hurtful but Apple seems to only want to protect what the company started and revolutionized a few years ago. Apple said that Samsung stole their ideas and now South Korean company is profiting from everything they’ve invested in.
We’re not surprised about the latest decision. It’s just how it is in the mobile game. This patent war will keep on going and no one is ever going to give up. Until the next chapter in this drama…

Omg here we go again Apple you did not invent the lock screen and you didn’t invent auto correct knock it off and bend over and take the facts as they are your just going to get counter sued by Samsung
Seems to me Apple thinks they’ve invented every feature in the world of smartphones. IIRC auto correct was around before the 1st iPhone…..somebody correct me if I’m wrong.
Behold, the great Apple has spoken. So let it be written, so let it be done. Let my people be free to enjoy as I demand, and let those Hebrew/Samsung slaves make phones with nothing in them.
