Best Buy is changing. That’s still good news because instead of folding up or going all digital and online, Best Buy has started to “rent out” floor space to the likes of Samsung and Apple. Two more brands will have prominent space in Best Buy stores–AT&T and Verizon. The two mobile carriers will finally have their own small stores inside Best Buy.
The storefronts are expected to bring more hands-on experience to the consumers. It’s more than just going to a store, checking out what’s available, and heading to the cashier to pay now. This is bringing the experience and “real-world examples to customers”. Store specialists will be able to explain more in detail the plans and present the devices in a way that potential buyers will appreciate.
Verizon already has their Destination and Smart stores and having their own store inside Best Buy is pretty much the same with their trained specialists providing a a hands-on environment. Meanwhile, AT&T will show off more mobile devices in their tiny stores. You’ll see a lot of “smartphones, tablets, wearables and connected car plug-ins plus AT&T’s home security and automation service, Digital Life” according to AT&T’s Vice-President Andy Shibley.
Both mobile carriers aim to provide shoppers more personalized and hand-son experiences before they make the decision to buy any of their products and services.
We don’t have much details or images of the new Verizon and AT&T mini stores inside Best Buy but the photo above is a rendered vision by AT&T. Back in March, we got to visit a Samsung shop inside a Best Buy store. Check out the image below:
More or less, the look and experience will be something like this.
