While the ideal way is to not use your smartphone at all when you’re driving, the rise of navigation apps and other ones that want to aid drivers while they’re driving in an unfamiliar place or even just their daily drive have made these devices indispensable as well. So the next best thing is to create accessories and tools that would make it safe to use or at least have your smartphone on hand while you’re traveling. A new product called GripTight Auto Vent Clip is a useful, portable, and compact travel accessory for those who can’t keep away from their gadget.
The GripTight series has become a bit known for their portable accessories and this latest one keeps a tight grip on your smartphone, whether it’s on your car and even on the airplane, so you can use your device hands free. It attaches to the car vents so as it will not obstruct your view while driving while at the same time, still keep an eye on it for navigation purposes. It has a positioning ball so that you can adjust the orientation, whether you want it portrait or landscape, or just change the angle with +20 degrees of movement.
And in case you’re worried about your smartphone or the grip itself falling off the vent, it is made with durable polycarbonate-ABS plastic with TPE grip pads and stainless steel so both should be in theory, secure. It also comes with a bonus airplane clip adaptor so that you can attach your smartphone to the closed tray table so you can use it hands-free while in-flight and secure during take-off and landing (if the airlines allows you to keep smartphones open during those times).
The GripTight Auto Vent Clip has two sizes: regular size (2.1 to 2.8 in.) for the smaller devices and XL (2.7 to 3.9 in.) for the bigger ones. The SRP is $34.95 and is available through the Joby website.
