LG G4, the newest flagship of the Korean OEM, is a pretty good new smartphone, and it has made a name for itself, particularly because of its leather back. The unusual style of the device made it stand out from the market. But now, they are releasing variants of the smartphone that don’t carry that distinctive feature, but instead, these are metallic versions of the device and will only be sold in the Indian market.
The LG G4 had previously launched in India, considered to be one of the emerging markets in terms of mobile sales, last June. Originally, it sold at around $772, but later on it received a price cut to around $605 for the ceramic version (another variant) and around $681 for the original leather backed version. But now, they have launched the Titanium Black and Gold versions, and it costs as much as the ceramic one.
Deepak Jasrotia, Business Head of LG Mobiles India, they decide to offer variants that would complement the market’s style, and the metallic variants is one step in that customization direction for the local market. “The G4 is our most ambitious product of 2015 and we hope the consumers will continue to show their love for this smartphone,” he said.
Aside from the metal backing, the smartphone remains the same like the original. It has a 5.5-inch Quad HD Quantum display with 2560 x 1440 pixels and runs on a 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor. Its 16MP main camera has LED flash, Laser AF, Manual mode for RAW image capture, and OIS 2.0. The Indian variant also comes with dual SIM with support for LTE bands in the country.
