Samsung Electronics has just introduced new speakers: the R1, R3, and R5 Wireless Audio 360 speakers. These new systems are expected to be showcased by the South Korean giant at the IFA 2015 event in Berlin next week. All models offer omni-directional audio and boast off built-in tap-and-swipe user interface.
These speakers also work with a Multiroom app so you can control audio from any smartwatch, tablet, or smartphone. The idea is to make wireless audio tech as easy to manage as possible without the balance and quality of sound being compromised. All three speakers feature a premium table-top design so you can place them anywhere inside your pretty home and so you can finally start playing your favorite songs in full volume.
One of Samsung’s many goals is to be a leader in home audio industry. And since going wireless is becoming a standard now, the company is taking advantage by bringing a “new kind of high quality sound to the market, with design that is simple, yet premium, and offers a more intuitive user interface” as described by Samsung Electronics Visual Display Business’ Senior Vice President Jurack Chae.
The Samsung R5, R3 and R1 Wireless Audio 360 models are mid-range speakers but the intuitive user experience, crisp and clear sound, and easy physical contol options, can very well put these speakers in the high-end category. All you need is a reliable WiFi connection so you can also easily share music across other devices and in different rooms within the home.
With the Multiroom app, anyone with a Samsung Gear S can control the speakers whether just the volume, music playback, queue search, choosing a playlist, and more. And to bring high fidelity music, Samsung partnered with Qobuz to bring high resolution streaming to their audio products and services. Price range of the wireless speakers will be $199 to $399 when they are released in Europe and the United States before 2015 ends.
