While a lot of Android and Samsung fans were generally excited when the Korean OEM announced their brand new phablets last week, there was also a certain amount of disappointment when it was known that one of them, the Galaxy Note 5 will not be getting a worldwide release. They reportedly decided to concentrate on markets where the Note series has been selling well. Samsung hasn’t released an official statement, but SAM Mobile has compiled an unofficial (but they claim to be sure) list.
Some of the countries in the list are Afghanistan, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Israel, Morocco, New Zealand, Philippines, Turkey, US, Vietnam, etc. Most of the countries in the list are from Asia, with no European countries at all. However, the site says that not all the countries are listed yet, so we may see the UK or France or Germany get the phablet yet. The list also includes the model number and is based on the available firmware that they were able to get hold of.
The newest device in the Note line has been well received, at least based on the specs and features that Samsung announced in the launch last week, plus a few hands-on review (check out ours here). Some of the notable features of the Note 5 is the spring-release S-Pen, the ability to write on a locked screen for your notes, and the wireless fast-charging capability.
For the markets that will not have the Galaxy Note 5, Samsung fans would have to be satisfied with the other phablet, the Galaxy S6 edge+, a slightly larger version of the previously launched Galaxy S6 edge. The two will officially hit the market by August 21.
