If you feel like you need a semblance of space on your device or if your data is not that fast enough anyways to get the impact of the full version, then LNE Light version may just be for you. Today they announced that the light version of the highly popular messaging app, not just in areas where Internet infrastructure isn’t that great, but in all countries in the world, except for a few countries and regions for one reason or another.

At less than 1MB in size, the messaging app will surely be able to make space in your device for more pictures, more apps, What comes with this lite version anyway? You still will be able to send text messages, stickers, and images, which are the core offerings of LINE and which you often use, we bet. But then audio and video calls, as well as other “more advanced” features like Timeline. But LINE said they will also be adding more functionalities for the LINE Lite, but none that would make it any heavier (we hope).

When it was initially released in select countries like India, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia, LINE Lite got a lot of good feedback and also a lot of requests to include their countries in the next phase of the rollout. The good news is that this phase actually meant the rest of the world, so unless you belong in one of those few countries exempted, then you’ll get to enjoy the lite version of the messaging app.

You can create a brand new account when you sign up for this new version or you can just carry over your already existing account. You can download LINE Lite from the Google Play Store for free.
