We haven’t heard of the Blackview brand before but the Alife P1 Pro definitely got our attention because of its very unique packaging. Why, the cardboard box that houses the Android phone can be converted into a Google Cardboard. This is one ingenious design that we can consider as geeky green because aside from carrying a phone inside, you can use the packing as another techie device. It’s giving the box another use aside from just being well, the box.
Google Cardboard can easily be made or ordered but good thing the HongKong-based Android phone maker decided to make their own VR viewing spectacles. The virtual reality industry may still be in its early stages but there’s certainly potential and it’s a good step for small companies like Blackview to join the bandwagon this early.
This packaging turned into a Cardboard VR viewer is smart that we’re expecting other companies to follow suit. It’s one cool marketing ploy because it’s like you’re selling two devices in one: a smartphone and a VR viewer. This is an eco-friendly strategy that both big companies and small startups can use as a clever marketing technique.
Blackview has started shipping the Alife P1 Pro today, August 13, from Everbuying or Aliexpress. Watch the video below and see for yourself how the packaging will transform into a Google Cardboard:
