Xiaomi is expected to unveil the latest Redmi Note 2. By August 16, we might see the new phablet from the Chinese Android device maker. And as with many special tech events and announcements, we can also expect more rumors and leaks to be shared even before the official launch.
New images of what’s believed to be the new Redmi Note 2 were recently sighted, giving us a glimpse of what could be the retail box and some more details on the specs.
Based on the images, we can say that the Redmi Note 2 phablet will be powered by a 2.0 GHz MediaTek MT6795 octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. We also know now that the device will have a 16GB built-in storage and will have the latest MIUI running on top of the sweet mobile platform.
Rumor has it that a Snapdragon 615 version will also be available. As for the price, we just learned that the next-gen phone-tablet from Xiaomi will be priced at $112. All these new information will be added to what we know so far: 5.5-inch Full HD display screen, 13MP main camera with LED flash, 5MP front-facing selfie cam, and a 3020 mAh battery.
As for the next MIUI version, Xiaomi recently announced that the MIUI 7 will launch on August 19 in New Delhi, India. No other details about the MIUI have been given but the logo hints on probably some Material Design elements. We’ll see.
