If you like looking up the lyrics and meanings behind your favorite songs, then you’ve probably heard of the website Genius (formerly Rap Genius) and it’s almost Wikipedia-type features which include song lyrics, annotations, and feature stories about said songs. Now, you’ll be able to access their database of lyrics, annotations, and articles from the comfort of your smartphone or tablet as they have finally released an Android app.

Whether you’re looking for the lyrics so you can sing the song at your office party, or you’re just curious about what that song actually means, or you’re just bored and want to memorize the latest and most popular songs, then the Genius app is for you. But more than just showing you the lyrics to various songs from all musical genres, it can also give you a line-by-line annotation so you and your friends can analyze whether Taylor Swift actually was referring to which ex-boyfriend for so-and-so song (take your pick, there are a lot).

There are also related literature, latest news about the most popular artists and albums, and sometimes, there are even videos and audio that you can play so you can sing along. If you have an account on Genius (or you can sign up for one through the app), you can even contribute to the lyrics and annotation, in case you have some sudden epiphany or inside information about some songs.

You can download Genius from the Google Play Store. And of course it is absolutely free.
